We are excited to present a distinguished and diverse group of speakers representing a wide range of professional backgrounds, clinical expertise, and institutional affiliations. Together, this group brings unique perspectives and experiences that reflect the multidisciplinary nature of Interventional Pulmonology. Through their presentations and participation in breakout sessions, attendees will gain valuable insights, practical knowledge, and a well-rounded educational experience informed by leaders from across the field.

Keynote and Session Speakers

S. Irfan Ali, MD Pioneer President & CEO

S. Irfan Ali, MD is a hospitalist and healthcare leader with over 16 years of experience. He founded Pioneer, growing it from a single hospital into a multi-specialty program with Post-Acute care, telemedicine, and the Pioneer Academy of Knowledge. He also leads the Pioneer Foundation, serving underserved patients at no cost. Dr. Ali trained at Sindh Medical College, University of Massachusetts, and Beth Israel Deaconess/Harvard Medical School, and completed fellowships in Hospital Medicine Leadership and the Toyota Production System. Based in Tampa, he enjoys traveling, long-distance biking, writing, photography, and volunteering.


Amit Tandon, MD Pioneer Chief of Interventional Pulmnology

Amit Tandon, MD is the Lung Medical Director at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, specializing in pulmonary medicine, critical care, and internal medicine. Board-certified in all three, he completed fellowships in Interventional Pulmonology at Henry Ford Hospital and Critical Care at the University of Cincinnati Hospitals. Dr. Tandon combines his expertise in interventional pulmonology and critical care to provide specialized, patient-centered care while advancing pulmonary medicine at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel.


Nathan Do, MD Pioneer Interventional Pulmonologist

Nathan Do, MD, is a board-certified physician in Critical Care Medicine, bringing extensive expertise to the management of critically ill patients. He earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and furthered his education with fellowship training in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care at the University of South Florida. Fluent in both English and Vietnamese, Dr. Do is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective care to a diverse patient population. His specialized training in pulmonary medicine and critical care equips him with the skills necessary to manage complex conditions and improve patient outcomes. Dr. Do is committed to delivering high-quality care and advancing the field of critical care medicine through his clinical expertise and patient-centered approach.​


Kimberley Cao, MD Pioneer Interventional Pulmonologist

Kimberley Cao, MD is a pulmonary physician specializing in complex lung disease management and precision-based therapeutic strategies. Her clinical interests include interstitial lung disease, airway disorders, and pulmonary vascular disease, with particular expertise in advanced physiologic interpretation and evidence-based care. Dr. Cao integrates the science and art of medicine, combining rigorous data-driven practice with deeply individualized, patient-centered care, recognizing that each patient represents a unique clinical and human experience. Known for a highly analytical and detail-oriented approach, she is committed to advancing patient outcomes, promoting clinical excellence, and fostering innovation through education, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the thoughtful application of emerging therapies.


Shieloh Stephens, APRN Pioneer Pulmonary Advanced Practitioner

Shieloh Stephens, APRN, is an adult health nurse practitioner specializing in pulmonary care. She earned her Master’s degree in Adult Health Nursing from University of South Florida, where she gained advanced training in comprehensive assessment and management of complex adult health conditions. Board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Shieloh provides patient-centered pulmonary care and works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support evidence-based treatment, optimize respiratory health outcomes, and enhance the overall patient experience.


Eva Gupta, MD Florida Cancer Specialist Oncologist

Dr. Eva Gupta is a medical oncologist and hematologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Pasco County. She completed her internal medicine residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit after serving as a research assistant at Michigan State University, where she worked on sentinel lymph node mapping in colon cancer and NSABP protocols. After practicing as a hospitalist in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Gupta pursued fellowship training in hematology/oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. She maintains a strong interest in clinical research, with presentations at national meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals.


Megan Selbst, MD RHA Pathologist

Megan L. Selbst, MD is a Tampa-based pathologist affiliated with RHA. She earned her medical degree from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine and completed residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Yale-New Haven Medical Center. With more than 20 years of practice, Dr. Selbst accepts Medicare and multiple additional insurance plans.


Jacques Fontaine, MD Moffitt Cancer Center Thoracic Surgeon

Jacques Fontaine, MD earned his medical degree from McGill University and completed general surgery residency at Boston University, followed by chief residency in thoracic surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital through Harvard Medical School. He began practice at University of Montreal before joining Brown Medical School to help develop a thoracic surgery program. Since 2011, Dr. Fontaine has been at Moffitt Cancer Center, where he serves as a Senior Member and Professor at University of South Florida. His clinical focus includes mesothelioma, lung, and esophageal cancers. He leads the Mesothelioma Research and Treatment Center and directs Moffitt’s Robotic Thoracic Fellowship Program, collaborating with Eric Toloza to build a nationally recognized robotic thoracic surgery program.
